User guide

Everything Netletz can do today, and how to set it up. Last updated May 2026.

First time? Start here.

Don't bother learning the Watcher types yet. Click New Watcher → Smart Watcher (AI) and type what you want in plain English — "tell me when a Carbone table for 2 opens on a Friday night" or "alert me if mycoolapp.com becomes available". Netletz picks the right Watcher type and fills in the settings. You can always tweak afterwards.

Quick start

  1. Sign in at /login (verify your email the first time).
  2. On the dashboard, click New Watcher.
  3. Choose how to start: Smart Watcher (AI) to describe it in plain English, Build from scratch for the full builder, or pick one of the prefilled templates below the search box.
  4. Fill in any remaining fields, pick a check interval, and save.
  5. When the rule matches, you'll get an alert in-app (and on push / SMS if enabled).

Watcher types

Smart Watcher (AI)

Describe what to watch in plain English — Netletz picks the type and fills in the settings.

From New Watcher, click Smart Watcher (AI) and type something like "tell me when AirPods Pro drop below $200 on Amazon", "alert me if there's a tornado warning near 78701", or "watch this REI page and ping me when size 10 Lone Peaks are back."

Netletz classifies the request, proposes a Watcher (URL, AI, weather, metal, etc.), and shows you a summary plus an SMS preview before you create it. If anything's missing — a threshold, a location, a URL — you'll see exactly what to add, then you can edit your prompt and try again. Locations given as a US zip code or city name are geocoded automatically.

Need full control over every field? Use Build from scratch on the same screen for the detailed builder with every Watcher type and advanced options.

URL (keyword / change / price)

Watch any public web page for keywords, content changes, or price thresholds.

Paste a URL and pick a rule. Netletz fetches the page on your chosen interval and fires an alert when the rule matches.

  • Contains / Doesn't contain — one or more keywords. Use any (match if any keyword appears) or all (every keyword must appear).
  • Changed — alert when the page's main content changes vs. the previous check.
  • Price below / above — extracts the most prominent price on the page and compares to your threshold.

Tip: some sites block direct scraping (AutoTrader, big retailers). Netletz automatically falls back to a search-based fetch for those — you'll see a note in the alert when that happens.

AI (natural-language condition)

Describe what you want in plain English — "alert me when a 2014–2018 Tacoma is listed under $20k."

Give a URL and a description of the condition. An AI model reads the page each tick and decides whether to fire. When it does, the alert includes the AI's reason and a direct link to the matching listing.

Great for marketplaces, job boards, real-estate listings, or any page where a simple keyword rule isn't enough.

Vehicle (AutoTrader-aware)

AI Watcher preset tuned for vehicle searches with automatic AutoTrader fallback.

Same engine as the AI Watcher, with extra hints for car listing sites. When a match is found, the alert links straight to the specific vehicle (not a search results page).

Event tickets

Watch Ticketmaster, AXS, SeatGeek, StubHub, or Vivid Seats for ticket drops by section, price, or any availability.

Built on our AI vision pass, so it works around the bot walls (Akamai / PerimeterX) that block direct scrapes on major ticket sites. Paste either a specific event page or an artist / team / venue listing page — both work. On listing pages we evaluate every event shown and fire when any one of them meets your condition.

Pick one of three trigger modes:

  • Any availability — new sections released, holds dropping, ADA seats, resale appearing, or a "Sold Out" badge flipping to available.
  • Specific section — floor, GA, pit, lower bowl, or a section name like "112". Matches generously.
  • Price ceiling — fires when the lowest listed price (including fees when visible) drops below your number.

Uses the AI watcher under the hood, which unlocks on the Power plan. Drop the interval to 15 minutes for hot drops — resale inventory turns over in seconds.

AI Anomaly

Build a price/length baseline for a page and alert when something unusual happens.

Pick a URL and a signal (price or text length). Netletz samples it over time, learns the normal range, and alerts on statistical outliers. Pick a sensitivity (low / med / high).

Trading (reversal)

Metals, stocks, crypto, or forex — arm at a high/low, fire on a pullback or bounce.

Two modes:

  • Fixed target — arms when price crosses your arm level, fires when it reaches your target.
  • % pullback — arms at your level, fires after a move of N% off the extreme.

Direction can be peak (high then drop), trough (low then bounce), or either — both bands armed at once.

Metal (simple gold/silver)

Plain price-above / price-below alerts for gold or silver, USD/oz.

Lightweight alternative to the Trading Watcher when you just want "ping me if silver goes below $X."

Flight price

Watch a specific route and date for fares at or below your target price.

Set origin and destination (IATA codes like JFK / LAX), a depart date (and optional return date for round-trip), number of adults, cabin class, and a max price in USD. Optionally restrict to nonstop flights only. Netletz checks fares on your interval and alerts when the total is at or below your target.

Amazon price

Track an Amazon product by ASIN and get alerted when it drops to your target price.

Paste the 10-character ASIN from the product URL, pick the Amazon marketplace (.com, .co.uk, .de, etc.), and set your target price. The alert links straight back to the product page so you can buy immediately.

Government appointment

Watch a DMV, passport, USCIS, or other booking page for newly opened appointment slots.

Paste the appointment page URL, label the location (e.g. "Austin DMV"), and list keywords that indicate availability (e.g. "available", "open", a date format). Optionally add exclude keywords ("no appointments", "fully booked") to suppress false positives. Netletz alerts the moment the page signals a slot is open.

Weather

Temperature thresholds (now or forecast), storms, and NWS alerts for any location.

Configure a location, then pick a rule:

  • Current temperature above/below a value — worldwide (Open-Meteo)
  • Forecast temperature above/below within the next N hours (up to 168) — worldwide
  • Generic stormy-conditions detection — worldwide
  • Named NWS alerts (tornado, thunderstorm, flood, winter, or any) — US only (api.weather.gov)

Outside the US, temperature and generic storm detection still work, but named severe-weather alerts aren't available.

Camping (ReserveAmerica)

Watch any ReserveAmerica-backed park (TX, NY, VA, FL, NC, PA, OH, TN, AL, GA, MD, MI, MN, WI…) for open nights.

Two ways to pick a park:

  • Curated list — quick-pick from parks we've verified.
  • Paste a ReserveAmerica URL — works for any RA-backed facility nationwide. Open the park's reservation page, copy the URL, paste it in. We extract the host, contract code, and park id automatically.

List the site numbers you'll accept (or leave empty for "any site"), pick a date window, and optionally require N consecutive nights. The alert links straight to the reservation page so you can book immediately.

Keep the interval ≥ 30 minutes to be polite to ReserveAmerica. Most state systems open booking 5–11 months in advance.

Restaurant reservation

Watch Resy, OpenTable, Tock, SevenRooms, or Yelp Reservations for a table that matches your party size, date range, time window, and preferred days.

Paste a direct restaurant URL from any major reservation platform (Resy, OpenTable, Tock, SevenRooms, Yelp Reservations). Pick your party size, the date window you'd accept (today out to 60+ days), the earliest and latest start time, and which days of the week actually work. We watch the page on a schedule and fire only when a real open slot — not a waitlist — appears for those criteria.

  • Ignores waitlists: "Join Waitlist" / "Notify Me" states don't trigger — only real bookable times.
  • Day-of-week filter: tap Fri/Sat to skip weekday slots you'd never take.
  • Time window: only fires for slots between your earliest and latest hour, so 5:30 PM doesn't ping you when you wanted 8 PM.

For high-demand restaurants (Carbone, Don Angie, French Laundry), drop the check interval to 15 minutes — cancellations get snapped up in seconds. Power plan unlocks the fastest intervals and removes the cap on how many restaurants you can watch.

Job posting

Watch LinkedIn, Indeed, Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, or any other board for new roles that match your title, location, salary, and exclusion filters.

Build your search on the job board first — pick the title keywords, location, remote/hybrid, salary band, anything the site supports. Copy the URL of the results page and paste it into Netletz. Then layer your own filters on top: Title must include (comma-separated; any match counts), Exclude words like "contract" or "manager", a Location rule, and an optional Min salary.

  • Extra rules in plain English: "Must be Series A–C startup, not FAANG. Bonus if Rust or Go." Our AI honors them.
  • Salary handling: when comp is shown, your floor applies. When it's missing (most boards), we don't penalize the listing.
  • No duplicates: each Watcher remembers which roles it already fired on, so you only get pinged about genuinely new postings.
  • Sponsored cards ignored: "Promoted" / "Sponsored" listings don't count.

For hot roles that get hundreds of applicants in the first day, run at 15 minutes. For broader searches, 1 hour is plenty. Power plan unlocks the fastest intervals.

eBay & marketplace saved search

Watch eBay, Mercari, Poshmark, Etsy, Grailed, Depop, StockX, Reverb, or Facebook Marketplace for new listings that match your title, price, and condition rules.

Build your search on the marketplace first — keywords, category, location, condition — and sort by Newly Listed. Copy the URL. Then layer your own rules in Netletz: Title must include, Exclude (parts, broken, copy, repro), Max price, and a Condition filter.

  • Auctions handled: we compare against the current bid or Buy It Now, whichever is shown.
  • Sponsored skipped: "Sponsored" / "Promoted" cards and the "people also watched" sections don't count.
  • Plain-English extras: "US sellers only", "99%+ feedback", "no shutter-sticky M6s" — our AI honors them.
  • No duplicates: each Watcher remembers what it already fired on, so you only get pinged about genuinely new listings.

For underpriced gear that gets sniped in minutes (cameras, watches, sneakers, vintage), run at 15 minutes. Power plan unlocks the fastest intervals.

Domain availability

Watch a taken domain and get texted the second it drops and becomes available to register at a normal price.

Enter the full domain you want — mycoolapp.com, brand.io, agency.co — and pick a lookup source: Namecheap, Porkbun, or Instant Domain Search. Netletz checks that page on your schedule and triggers only when the domain is offered for a standard new-registration price.

  • Premium / aftermarket ignored: "Make Offer", "Backorder", and reseller-priced listings don't fire the alert.
  • Exact TLD match: we don't ping you about the .net when you asked for the .com.
  • Realistic intervals: hourly to every-6-hours is the sweet spot. Most domains drop in predictable windows after the redemption grace period.

Heads-up: popular drops get sniped by registrar drop-catchers within seconds. Netletz tells you the second the domain is live for registration — securing it still depends on you (or a backorder service) winning the queue.

Listing email (MLS / inbox forwarding)

Forward MLS or listing emails to your private Netletz address — get filtered, keyword-matched alerts.

Each Listing-email Watcher gives you a unique inbound address on Netletz's own domain — no DNS, MX records, or email-server setup on your end. Just add it as a Gmail forwarding destination (we'll capture and display Gmail's confirmation code automatically) or as the target of a Gmail filter. Netletz then applies your sender filter, optional client name/email filter, and keyword list — only matches become alerts.

Alerts & channels

  • In-app — every alert lands on the Alerts page. When the Watcher returns a direct URL (vehicle listing, ReserveAmerica page, etc.), the alert shows an icon that opens it in a new tab.
  • Push — enable in Settings → Notifications. Works on desktop and mobile browsers that support web push.
  • SMS — add and verify a phone number in Settings → Phone alerts, then enable the SMS channel per Watcher.
  • Webhook (Discord / Slack / custom) — click the icon on any Watcher card, paste a Discord or Slack incoming-webhook URL (or your own HTTPS endpoint), and Netletz will POST the alert there. Payload auto-shapes for Discord and Slack; everything else gets generic JSON. Send a test from the same dialog.

Templates gallery

Don't want to build from scratch? Open /templates for one-click prefilled Watchers — flight prices, campsite openings, MLS new listings, crypto / stock thresholds, weather alerts, and more. Each template has its own landing page with examples.

History & "why didn't this fire?"

Every Watcher card has a clock-rewind icon. It opens the last 100 checks with the outcome of each (Fired / Cooldown / Fetch failed / No match), the actual value, a sparkline, and a counter of recent fetch failures — so you can see exactly why an alert did or did not fire.

Test now

The ↻ button on any Watcher card forces a tick immediately, bypassing the schedule and cooldown — useful for verifying that push, SMS, and webhook delivery actually work before you depend on it. Listing-email Watchers have a "Send test email" button that sends a sample alert to your inbox.

Snooze & quiet hours

Snooze any Watcher for an hour, a day, or a week from its card. Set quiet hours in Settings → Quiet hours to suppress SMS and webhook delivery during a nightly window (in-app alerts still record so you see them in the morning).

Share a Watcher

Generate a read-only link from the share icon on any Watcher card. Anyone with the link can view its rule and recent results without an account — handy for sharing a price-drop watch with a co-worker, or a campsite hunt with friends.

Bulk actions

Use the selection checkboxes on the dashboard to pause, resume, snooze, or delete multiple Watchers at once.

Check intervals

Every Watcher has its own schedule, from every 15 minutes to once a day. Pick the longest interval that still gets you the alert in time — it's friendlier to the upstream site and uses less of your plan quota.

Install on your phone

Netletz is a PWA. On iOS, open the site in Safari and tap Share → Add to Home Screen. On Android Chrome, use Install app from the menu. Push notifications work after install.

Plans & billing

Billing is handled by Paddle (Merchant of Record). Manage or cancel from Settings → Billing. See our refund policy for the 30-day money-back guarantee.

Export your data

From Settings → Billing, click Export account data to download a single JSON file containing your profile, every Watcher and its config, all alerts, and recent check history.

Troubleshooting

  • "Page content indicates the website is unavailable" — the source site is blocking direct scraping. Netletz will automatically retry via a search-based fallback on the next tick.
  • No alerts firing — confirm the Watcher is enabled, your rule is correct, and the check interval has had time to run at least once.
  • Push not arriving — re-enable notifications in Settings; some browsers reset permission after a clean install.
  • Still stuck? Email jerry@netletz.com.
