Privacy Notice
Last updated: May 2026
Netletz is operated by Jerrall Thomas Rankin, an individual sole proprietor ("Netletz", "we", "us"). This notice explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data. We act as the data controller for the information described below. For payment processing, our reseller Paddle.com acts as Merchant of Record and an independent controller for transaction data.
1. Information we collect
- Account data — email address, login credentials, name (optional).
- Contact data for alerts — phone number (if you opt in to SMS), push notification tokens.
- Watcher configuration — names, URLs, keywords, thresholds, locations and other settings you create.
- Usage and device data — IP address, browser/device info, logs, error reports.
- Support messages — anything you send us when you contact support.
2. How we use your data
- To create your account and provide the Service.
- To run your Watchers and send the alerts you've configured.
- To prevent fraud and abuse and to keep the Service secure.
- To improve the product and fix bugs.
- To answer your support requests.
- To send important service announcements.
3. Legal basis
We process your data under one or more of: performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests (improving and securing the Service), your consent (for marketing or SMS), and to comply with the law.
4. Who we share data with
- Service providers (subprocessors) — hosting and backend infrastructure, email and SMS delivery, push notification providers, error logging and analytics.
- Merchant of Record (Paddle) — for billing, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing. Paddle's own privacy practices apply to data they collect during checkout.
- Professional advisers — legal, accounting where necessary.
- Authorities — where required by law.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories listed above exclude mobile opt-in data and SMS consent; that information is used solely to deliver the alerts you have opted in to receive and is not sold, rented or shared for marketing.
4a. Internal support access
Authorized Netletz support personnel may access your account data — including your Watcher configurations, watched URLs, alert history, and stored values — when reasonably necessary to:
- diagnose a technical issue or respond to a support request,
- investigate suspected violations of our Terms of Service (including the Acceptable Use rules),
- protect the security or integrity of the Service, or
- comply with legal obligations.
Every such access — including any edits, pauses, deletions or manual checks performed on your Netletz by support — is recorded in an internal audit log capturing the staff member, timestamp, action, and affected resource. Access is limited to staff with a legitimate need.
5. Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records (e.g. for accounting or legal reasons).
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export your data, restrict or object to certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Email jerry@netletz.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
7. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures — encryption in transit, access controls, isolated production systems — to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, but we take this seriously.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We may also use lightweight analytics cookies to understand usage.
